WARRINGTON Wolves' historic match in Las Vegas turned into a true nightmare.
In what was by far their worst performance and heaviest defeat under Sam Burgess, The Wire were humbled by neighbours Wigan Warriors, who showed exactly why they hold all four pieces of silverware on offer.
A nightmare first half saw them go into the break 24-0 down having had a Toby King try overturned by video referee Liam Moore with the game scoreless.
Tyler Dupree, Abbas Miski, Bevan French and Harry Smith put the champions in command before Jai Field, Jake Wardle and Luke Thompson scored in quick succession after the break to put the result beyond all reasonable doubt.
With the game long since done, Warrington at least ensured they would not be kept scoreless as quickfire tries from Arron Lindop, James Harrison and Matt Dufty gave the scoreline a touch more respectability, but it was way too little, way too late.
Wigan looked like they'd had the last word as Liam Marshall touched down late on, but Matty Ashton's intercept try allowed Wire at least that honour
